If you’re anything like me, you may have found yourself creating these roadblocks to health somewhere along the way.
So how do we break down the barriers? Let’s look at them one at a time.
“I’m too busy to exercise.”
“By the end of a long day, I am just too tired to work out.”
“I am afraid I will hurt myself.”
“I have a health problem that I do not want to make worse.”

Life is an experience, a journey, for all of us. We all value food in different ways and our vegetarian friends are no different. For the most part they are individuals with strong beliefs that, without compromise, have led their lives dining on vegetables. Some have chosen to do so, freely, and others have been forced to partake in a more structured eating plan for health reasons.
Whatever the reason; there are some important things to take into consideration. Regardless of the type of vegetarianism you have chosen for your lifestyle; you may be missing important nutrients and supplements that would otherwise be ingested through foods you no longer eat. Quality vitamin supplements are an essential part of living a healthy vegetarianism lifestyle.
Recent studies have shown that the old-world ingredients such as garlic, turmeric, ginseng, capsaicin, psyllium, cayenne, fenugreek, various oils, nuts, etc. have great positive dietary benefits. In western cultures, vegetarianism is embraced more as a healthy alternative to weight-loss or weight-control diets.
Since our vegetarian friends avoid meat and meat by products they often miss out on the essential nutrients found in these foods. They are likely to remove all animal products including eggs, milk, yogurt, fish, fish oils, meat, poultry, etc., which are the main sources of important nutrients. The only alternative source for such nutrients for the vegetarian is discount vitamins and dietary supplements.
It should be noted that as we eliminate these food items from our diet, we tend to overlook the long-term physical effects of lacking the nutrients derived from these foods.
Thus leaving us wondering why we feel sluggish, and a bit foggy headed. Under the surface of contentment, our bones, teeth, and skeletal structure begin to wither in strength. Our stamina is drained and we tend to feel weak. Our body needs these nutrients to work at it’s peak performance.
Nutrients such as:

“Vegetarian diets provide enormous health benefits by reducing the risk of disease and improving well-being. Despite the overall benefits, however, the chances of deficiencies of the nutrients discussed above are greater in vegetarians than omnivores. The perfect diet, plant-based or omnivorous, still eludes us. In the meantime, fortification and supplementation bring us a step closer.” Charles K. It’s funny, we deal with stress so often in our lives we rarely recognize it when it happens. It seems that mentally and emotionally we have adapted, but physically our body is feeling something else entirely.
What are some of the major stress factors in our lives:
We have become almost immune to these common everyday “stressers”, and yet the effects on our body will become evident over a span of time.
Eventually the effects reveal themselves in the form of:
In an effort to combat these “stresser” marks our body tries to compensate by internally gobbling up our nutrients, thus depleting our cache; putting our immune system at risk.
Research has long established the link between high stress levels and lower immune systems.
Our bodies are beautifully created and masterfully made, but under stress they will react one of two ways.
So what can we do to combat the internal, and sometimes external, effects of living a life of stress.
First and foremost, find peace in your Creator and Lord. Reflect and meditate on what He has for you and your life, within His Word, and be at peace knowing that He will direc recognize the pillars to supporting a healthy lifestyle:
Speaking from experience, if these were not a common practice in your life, then it will take some time to get proficient, but the pay off is tremendous. Start simply by making a commitment to yourself to begin today to take better care of yourself. Start routinely taking a walk…enjoying quiet time with the Lord…eating healthy foods…and getting a good nights rest.
I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention the importance of dietary supplements as you move through your “Wellness Journey”. Taking nutritional supplements with a combination of adaptogens, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids can provide the food your body needs for healing, repairing, and infusing your system with vitality.
Start today taking care of yourself!
